In the Spirit of the Season Written By: Harry Gribnitz With the coming holiday season, I was thinking about a gift for each of my clients and Realtor Partners. With my recent move to Priority Mortgage, I thought something with the company Logo and address would be good. Everyone needs a calendar. I could have them printed with all the company information, but what should I do for pictures? Generic scenes? Pictures of houses? Pictures of me? This project is getting out of hand. My second thought was magnets. Everyone could use one more magnet on the refrigerator. Or Post-it notes? Or key rings? Or letter openers? Something, anything with my name on it!!!!! Over Thanksgiving weekend I was reading a story in the Grand Rapids Press about the Santa Claus Girls. I started giving some real thought to the meaning of the season. Rather than spending money on something “about me” that you probably really don’t need, I thought about giving to those that are really in need. The Santa Claus Girls have been helping needy families with young children in Grand Rapids for over 90 years. Each year they get a list of families from the Kent County Family Independence Agency and supplement the list with other called-in family names. Last year they distributed gifts to over 9000 children. With the money I had “budgeted” for gifts to my clients and Realtor Partners, I have made a contribution to the Santa Claus Girls.
