Government provides “FREE MONEY” to buy a home in Michigan Written By: Harry Gribnitz Tom and Shirley were looking to buy their first home after years of renting. They had talked to Banks and other Lenders but were never able to qualify to buy a nice first home. They were so frustrated that they were ready to even stop trying and just be lifelong renters. Fortunately, one of my Realtor Partners sent them to me. We told them about a little known government program that actually pays part of your mortgage payment! The MCC program helps first and second time buyers purchase a home without stretching the budget to the limit. The program can provide a tax credit for 10 to 20% of the mortgage interest payment for as long as you own your home. Most lenders and realtors either don’t know about the program or don’t want to make the extra effort to explain the program to the homebuyers.
