I have made a donation to Silent Observer and would like to offer four of you the opportunity to play golf in the Charity Golf tournament that benefits Silent Observer. For those of you not familiar with Silent Observer, I’ll provide some background. Since 1972, Silent Observer has provided a communication channel for citizens to provide information to local law enforcement without revealing their identity. During 2000, Silent Observer received information the lead to the arrest of 51 suspects that cleared 64 cases, including 3 murders, in Kent, Ottawa, Newaygo and Calhoun Counties. Many other tips provided crucial information to police investigations. On Monday July 16, 2001 a golf tournament will be held at Highland Country Club to benefit the Silent Observer program. I need to find four people to represent me at the tournament. In addition to free golf, you will receive lunch, dinner and be eligible for various prizes and raffles. I just need your help deciding who should play. The following are the basic rules: 1) Anyone receiving this letter may nominate up to four golfers to play in the tournament. (Please be sure they are able to play on that day.) 2) You may nominate yourself, relatives, friends, co-workers, etc. 3) Please complete the enclosed form and return by mail, fax or e-mail (must be received no later than June 25, 2001) 4) Please tell me why your nominees should be selected. 5) I will select four golfers to play in the tournament. I don’t have any specific criteria for making the selection, but creativity counts. I suppose I have to add that my decision is final and can not be appeal to the Supreme Court. 6) Selected golfers will be notified by July 1, 2001.
