“CHAIN OF LOVE” Written By: Harry Gribnitz Years ago our poets and story tellers wrote their stories on tablets or parchment or in books. More recently, we hear those simple stories with real messages in the lyrics of our song writers. I would like to share one of those stories. Joe was driving home in his old beat up car. He was flagged down by an elderly lady in the snow with a flat tire on her Mercedes. He stopped to change the tire. When he was finished, he refused to take any money, but left her with a message. A few miles down the road the lady stopped at a small café to get a bite to eat. The waitress was very sweet to the stranger. The lady could not help but notice that she must be eight months along and look dead on her feet. When the waitress went to make change from that $100 bill, the lady left the message written on a napkin as she slipped out the door. With tears in her eyes the waitress read the note. When she arrived home late that evening, she slipped into bed next to her sleeping husband. She thought about the money and the note and whispered to her husband, “I love you Joe.” What was the message that passed from Joe to the stranger and back again? “You don’t owe me a thing I’ve been there too Someone once helped me out Just the way I’m helpin’ you If you really want to pay me back Here’s what you do Don’t let the chain of love end with you.” Merry Christmas, Harry Gribnitz Your Home Loan Specialist for Life!
