A friend of mine who loves their happy one-year old, excitable puppy is very happy with their adoption through the Kent County Humane Society. While he still needs some training in the chewing and walking department, the house is tidier these days because no shoes are to be left out. Otherwise, the shoes are fair game as a chew toy when they are gone. That is a small price to pay for the joy and unconditional love he has brought into their home. No matter what kind of day you have had, he is there to provide unconditional love. He greets them at the door with his favorite toy and just wants to play. He makes the cranky boss or traffic backup in the construction zone, just seem insignificant.
The staff of the Kent County Humane Society was very helpful in working with my friends to find the type and breed of dog they wanted. They were required to fill out an adoption form with basic information, but also questions about the type of home, fenced yard, other pets. Why do you want a pet? Companion, security etc. They even check references. As soon as they got the call, they went to the KCHS to meet the dog to see if they liked him, but even more importantly, did the dog like them. I heard it was love at first site!!!! The KCHS has many wonderful animals just yearning for loving homes and people.
Inspired by their story, I thought I would help two of you bring one of these loving animals into your home. I have made special arrangements to help you adopt pets through the Humane Society. You will need to meet all the adoption guidelines set by the KCHS. I will pay the $95.00 adoption fee for the first two families to adopt pets. Just present the enclosed certificate and follow the simple procedures of the Kent County Humane Society. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to share your love with an animal that needs a new home.
