It is finally officially summer in West Michigan. Time for Fair!!!!! Each year West Michigan features a wide range of local events and fairs. No other part of the country can boost about events that feature balloons, airplanes, babies, tulips, cherries, red flannel, rodeo, the Coast Guard, great music and delicious fair food!!! My favorite Fair is coming August 7 – 12, 2006, the Kent County Youth Fair just outside of Lowell. We have again been invited to serve as a judge for the Club Booths. I guess they thought even a “country boy” from Chicago could handle that role. We have been fortunate to enlist many of our friends and business associates to join us a Club Booth judges.
Once again this year, we will be sponsoring the Children’s Barnyard. The Barnyard is fun for children from ages 9 days to 90 years. The small farm animals and pets love being seen and touched. In order to provide some additional fun for children of all ages, we will have a tent just outside the Children’s Barnyard with games and giveaway’s all week long. My friends from Westdale Realty will have a different special “surprise” activity each day. The volunteers from the Humane Society of Kent County will have adoptable animals from 1:00 -5:00PM Monday through Friday. I have even heard a rumor we might have coupons for free cookies!!!!! But there is no truth to the rumor that I will be reenacting last years’ trip over a tent rope and flop onto my butt (can I say butt?).
