Ten Best Tools of All Time
Written By: Harry Gribnitz

It’s spring in Michigan!!!! It’s time to get the car ready for the season of driving fun. I have been working on my truck this weekend. I gave it that extra special washing to get rid of any trace of winter road salt. I vacuumed both the passenger area and the cargo area. I removed all the “stuff” I found under the seats. That included a little green fuzzy thing from under the back seat. I don’t think I even want to know what that was. I took the snowbrush and salt bags out of the back. (On second thought, I decided to leave the snowbrush for a couple of more weeks, it is only May.)

While cleaning out the toolbox, I found a list of the “10 best tools of all time”. The list was originally published by the SHO Registry, a magazine devoted to news and information about the Ford Taurus SHO. With a little modernization, I thought you might enjoy the list.

1. Duct tape
2. Vice grips (“The heavy artillery of your tool box”)
3. Spray lubricants
4. Margarine tubs with clear lids
5. Big roadside rocks
6. Plastic zip ties (“When buying a used car, subtract $100 for every zip tie under the hood”)
7. Large standard screwdriver
8. Baling wire
9. Bonking stick (also know as a tie-rod end separator)
10. Cellular phone (or a quarter and a phone booth).

My truck and toolbox is ready. It’s time to hit the road. Now if I can just find me way through all the road construction!
